100 Thousand Olive Saplings from BOTAŞ to Saros Region

With the FSRU Vessel Jetty Project to be realized at Gulf of Saros, a great contribution will be made to both the energy supply security of our country and to the environment. Thanks to giant project, another giant step forward will be taken in line with Türkiye’s target of becoming an energy hub.
100 Thousand Olive Saplings to Gulf of Saros
100 thousand olive saplings were planted at Gulf of Saros by BOTAŞ, which is among the leader organizations in Türkiye and in the world with its sensitivity to the environment and special attention it pays to the energy efficiency for the sake of future generations.
Within the scope of the sapling planting carried out in Sazlıdere village of Keşan district, olive saplings were planted in Sazlıdere village of Keşan district as well as in Gökçetepe, Mecidiye, Pınarköy, Yerlisu, Beyköy, Erikli, Yayla and Danişment villages.
Olive Culture Revived Thanks to BOTAŞ
Speaking at the sapling planting ceremony, Edirne Deputy Governor Ali Uysal said that 100 thousand olive saplings met with the soil thanks to BOTAŞ.
Our Saros FSRU Project Will Be The Guarantee Of Energy Supply Security
With the Saros FSRU Project, a new entry point will be created, which will make significant contributions to the operation of the national natural gas network as well as the entire Thrace region without any problems, and any interruptions and cuts in natural gas supply will be eliminated. Accordingly, Türkiye's natural gas supply security will be guaranteed.
Speaking at the ceremony, BOTAŞ Deputy General Director and Board Member Mr. Abdulvahit Fidan Saros said that with the FSRU project Türkiye's energy security would be guaranteed. He also stated the contributions of the project both to the energy system and the ecology of the region.
Stating that BOTAŞ has done all the necessary works for planting saplings within the framework of the principle of clean energy, Fidan said, “Today, with 100 thousand olive saplings that we will plant with the support of the Governorship of Edirne, we will both give a great gift to nature and we will bring about a versatile work that will benefit the people of the region economically.”
We Aim To Protect And Enrich The Environment In All Our Projects
Stating that the need for clean energy sources is increasing day by day in our country and in the world, Fidan said “As we continue our projects and activities with the principle of “As BOTAŞ family we are changing Türkiye’s Air”, our main objective is to create increased awareness regarding the environment in every step we take. We aim to protect and enrich the environment in all our projects we carry out with the effort of leaving a more livable world to future generations.
We Will Make a Versatile Contribution to the People of the Region, Nature and Our Country
Expressing that they are trying to reach every member of our nation by providing uninterrupted gas supply to every point of our country, Fidan said, “Our Saros FSRU project, which was initiated in the Thrace Region, where industrialization is most intense, will be the guarantee of energy supply security. Like all projects implemented by BOTAŞ, with its environmental sensitivity, it will make a holistic and versatile contribution to the people of the region, nature and our country.“ He added that BOTAŞ is not only an investor organization, but it also fulfills its social responsibilities and carries out awareness-raising activities for our citizens.
Stating that they are aiming to reach every member of our nation by providing uninterrupted gas supply to every point of our country, Fidan completed his words as follows:
"I would like to thank particularly our Governor of Edirne, our Deputy Governor, Keşan District Governor, our Mayor who supported us in all these processes and all our guests who did not leave us alone, and I hope that our afforestation campaign of the Saros Project will be beneficial to all our nation, especially the people of the region, and I present my respects to all of you."
After the speeches, planting of the saplings was started. After the saplings were planted together, the ceremony ended.
