Under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the "Belt and Road Investment and Financial Cooperation Summit" was organized on June 27, 2018, with the contribution of China Industrial and Commercial Bank (ICBC) and the Chinese Embassy. At the summit as well as many guests from China, ICBC Chairman Yi Juiman, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Yu Hongyang and Türkiye's leading industrial and financial representatives also took part. The memorandum of understanding for financing a total of US $ 1.2 billion to be used in the Gas Underground Storage Expansion Project was signed by BOTAŞ General Manager Mr. Burhan Özcan and ICBC Chairman Gao Xiangyang.
