The 24th World LNG Summit, the world's most important LNG event, was held in Berlin, Germany on 9-12 December 2024. At the conference, sessions were held on various topics, including Europe's short-term supply-demand balance, the impact of LNG liquefaction projects expected to be commissioned in the long term on natural gas and LNG prices, and Europe's decarbonization targets.

On the first day of the conference, our Deputy General Manager Mr. Mithat AYDIN participated as a speaker in the session titled “The Role of LNG in Meeting Europe's Industrial Energy Demand”. During the session, the speakers discussed whether the decline in industrial natural gas demand in Europe is permanent, the future of LNG regasification plant projects in Europe and the place of long-term contracts in the portfolio of large natural gas users.

In addition, the BOTAŞ delegation participating in the conference held meetings with more than 10 companies operating in international LNG markets and held consultations on ongoing processes and possible collaborations within the scope of short- and long-term LNG trade.
