Ceaselessly continuing its activities in order to guarantee the security of energy supply for our country and to provide our nation with cheap and safe energy, BOTAŞ has made another addition to the energy investments it has made in our country.
One of the biggest investments made by BOTAŞ in line with the National Energy and Mining Policy and the first FSRU (Floating LNG Storage and Gasification Unit) vessel registered in the Turkish International Ship Registry, Ertuğrul Gazi, completed its 30-day cruise and entered Turkish territorial waters and after the completion of the certification procedures, it has anchored at the port in Dörtyol district of Hatay province.
Giant Contribution to Security of Natural Gas Supply
Ertuğrul Gazi FSRU vessel BOTAŞ had built will be commissioned after testing procedures and will contribute greatly to the security of natural gas supply of our country.
295 meters long, 46 meters wide and 63 meters high, Türkiye's first FSRU vessel "Ertugrul Gazi", with 170 thousand m3 LNG storage capacity which is equivalent of 108 million Sm3 of natural gas, and daily 28 million Sm3 gasification capacity, will have a great share in achieving uninterrupted energy supply in our country.
Cheap and Safe Energy for Our Country
With the Ertuğrul Gazi FSRU vessel, our nation will be provided with cheap and safe energy by having access to natural gas from different source countries or spot markets without being dependent on pipelines.
With Ertuğrul Gazi FSRU, the most recent and important of the breakthroughs in the field of security of energy supply of our country, uninterrupted/un-curtailed energy supply to our country will continue and Türkiye will get one step closer to its target of being an energy hub with investments in natural gas storage and FSRU.
